With a population of 5,000
Iberian Lynx
in the 1960's
it is difficult to believe
the Lynx is now the worlds
most endangered cat
In 2005 the numbers
fell to a
record low of only 100
Now with a program of captive breeding this lovely creature will be saved
The numbers in 2007 were up to 200 so hopefully this will not be the first cat to be extinct since the Sabretoothed cat
10,000 years ago
